Week 24: “Meet the Lohners.” Philippines San Pablo Mission, Lipa Zone

Hello! This is Sister Dilag. I am currently serving in the Philippines San Pablo Mission, Lipa Zone. I am waiting for mission changes on my original assignment to the California Sacramento Mission.

I will give you weekly updates on my current mission. I will also attach interesting attachments! I hope this finds you entertaining!

Heads up! We finally have the Lohners’ coming over to our Mission. We had a great meet up with them via Zoom with all the Missionaries of the Philippines San Pablo Mission. Also, our Interim Mission President and wife, has ended their term.

This has been an incredible and miraculous week. As you read along the email, you will find this interesting.

Teaching Appointments

I had a good amount of 5-7 teaching appointments. We reteach a few Recent Converts. We had a free Service on Reading Comprehension. We received a New Referral from a Member. For this weeks email, I will talk about my favorite family.

• Fernandez Family

The Fernandez Family is a progressing family. They come from a family of 4, a Member (Father), two Part-Members (Mother, Daughter) and a Primary (Turning 8, next month). We love them. This family has been an everyday excitement. We get excited on their understanding of our teachings, including the Book of Mormon.

Whenever we follow-up their commitments on Reading the Book of Mormon. We are surprised by the amount of insights and answers shared. Every detail of the story and character, was well explained. It was impressive!

We set a baptismal goal date for them next month, September. We are excited to see them converse themselves in the Gospel and Doctrine of Christ.

Studies

I have been studying the Book of Mormon, a few times this week, including the Book of Mormon Commentary.

I read Alma 53-63. The Chapters mentioned about ‘Covenants.’ Covenants is having a firm trust to God. To be covenanted, means having a real intent of agreement with him, letting all our ‘natural man’ set-aside and continue to commit the promises given, because He will help you and bless you.

I saw a few blessings in the mission of being truly covenanted with God. I changed in the mission. I see instances of increasing politeness and appreciation. I appreciate small changes in the mission.

Service

We rendered service with our Sisters’ in the Zone along with our EQ President and his wife, the Linas’. We drove straight to Sto. Tomas Sisters’ Area (Sister Cusile, Sister Catacutan), formerly Elders’ Area, we clean the apartment for 5 hours straight. Then, drove to the Tanauan Sisters’ Area (Sister Rio, Sister Madriaga), to drop off a bag and a few things for them, and we went to Lipa 1st Sisters’ Area (Sister Limnoan, Sister Rapanut), formerly Elders’ Area, we lightly clean other areas of their apartment. I had a great time helping out with the Sisters’ and great chance to roam around the entire Zone!

Mission Updates: President and Sister Lohner

Any updates on the Sisters’ of your Zone?
The Sisters of our Zone are doing great. They are all well adjusted on their areas and companions. They are doing incredible on their Area Book and Areas.

Any outcome on the Sisters’ Apartment?
We had the Sto. Tomas Sisters’ in our apartment. We had them over, because their apartment was too dangerous and unsafe for them. For the meantime, they will look for a new apartment.

The Lipa 1st Sisters’ accidentally locked the other room. We were figuring out ways on unlocking the door. We tried everything, until we decided to bust the doorknob with a Fire Extinguisher. We smashed the door knob hard, a few times. Unfortunately, it was too firm to take it off.

We had to stop too, it echoed the entire neighborhood. Woopsies, our bad! Hehe.

Any updates on President and Sister Lohner?
President and Sister Lohner safely arrived to the Philippines, last week! It was a miracle. We had a great discussion on our Sunday Devotional. We participated on their questions. I was able to share my thoughts too. It felt great!

Any updates on President and Sister Valdez?
President and Sister Valdez ended their term this week. We were surprised by this update. They were great Mission Parents in our mission. They did a great job on transferring every missionary on their areas. I will miss them. I love them so much! I hope they can come back to the mission!

I had a great week. This week has been a roller coaster. I hope to receive updates on you. I will update you next week! ♡

Love,
