Week 23: “A Week of Transfers!” Philippines San Pablo Mission, Lipa Zone and Batangas Zone

Hello! This is Sister Dilag. I am currently serving in the Philippines San Pablo Mission, Lipa Zone. I am waiting for mission changes on my original assignment to the California Sacramento Mission.

I will give you weekly updates on my current mission. I will also attach interesting attachments! I hope this finds you entertaining!

Heads up! This week was crazy! We had our transfer calls. Surprisingly, I am not transferring. I will be staying in Lipa Zone. Also, big changes! As you follow along the email, you’ll be surprised by the big change on our transfers.

Mission Transfer Calls

We received an email of a list of transfers of every Missionary. It was huge! As we were looking over the list of missionaries. We started to exceed joy, on this marvelous revelation

My companion and I received phone calls from the Mission Leaders and Assistants to gear-up for big changes in the Mission.

Those big changes were: Lipa Zone and Batangas Zone will be Sisters Area. We will be having two Elders in the Zone.

New Updates: We have two Elders in Lipa Zone, Elder Laranjo (Zone Leader) and Elder Rivero (District Leader). Batangas Zone, we will have two Elders, Elder Perlas (Zone Leader) and Elder Epat (District Leader).

Yes, 1 Zone Leader and 1 District Leader. This means the whole Lipa Zone will be having 1 Zone and 1 District. The rest of the STLs will be 3 or more. We will find out more sooner on changes.

Another update: Our two Districts of our Zone will be having their transfers, too. My companion and I were surprised by this update, because we realized on the day of our DCL will be the last virtual meet-up discussion.

Our favorites in our district will be leaving, Elder Aquino will be transferring to Sta. Cruz Zone and Elder Epat (District Leader) to Batangas Zone. Our amazing missionaries, Elder Agcaoili will be transferring to Lucena Zone, Elder Arcena to Lopez Zone, Sister Ancheta to Cabuyao Zone.

Another update: We had a few Sisters’ coming over in our apartment, Sister Laniton, Sister Limnoan and Sister Catacutan. They will be transferring on their assigned areas. Sister Catacutan and Sister Limnoan will be in Lipa Zone, and Sister Laniton, newly called STL of Batangas Zone.

Sister Estrella and I will no longer be handling Batangas Zone, anymore. It is sadder than ever! I missed Batangas Zone, Elder Cauilan and Elder Perlas (ZLs) and the Sisters, Sister Agoot, Sister Abierra, Sister Cusile and Sister Madriaga.

A few of them had their transfers. Elder Cauilan will be transferring to Sta. Cruz Zone, Sister Abiera will be moving to Cabuyao Zone and Sister Cusile, Sister Madriaga will be moving to Lipa Zone.

Honestly, I will miss them! I had a great cycle with them. This has been a great opportunity to be witnessing other Missionaries work hard on their Area and Baptisms. Also, a great impact on my mission. I know by, “Obedience brings Blessings, but Exact Obedience brings Miracles.”

Teaching Appointments

For this week we focus on reteaching, Recent Converts. We had a few great discussions with them. Throughout our discussion, most of them applied the lessons and some of them are willing to find out more. Which is a great kick-off week!

• Sister Simbajon

A couple of days ago, we had a baptism of Sister Simbajon. She is one of our Potential BGDs for this month. She passed her interview for baptism and her interview with our District Leader. It was a great experience witnessing her excitement to get baptized. Also, the day of her baptism, she celebrated her birthday. It was perfect timing.

Agendas

A few agendas this week. It’s a long agenda, we had meetings and rush hours to help out our Sisters’ in both Zones: Lipa Zone and Batangas Zone.

• Meetings

We had meetings with the Ward on the baptism of Sister Simbajon and fellowshipping our Recent Converts. We want to focus on our Recent Converts’ Progression.

Another meeting with the Stake. We focus on, “Effective Ministering.” We focus on social interaction with our Part-Member Families. Throughout the discussion, it went ‘very’ well. I had a great meeting discussion with the Ward and Stake.

• District

On Wednesday, we had 2 Workshops for separated Districts: District One and District Two. The Missionaries of District One are: Elder Laranjo, Elder Agcaoili, Elder Arcena (Sto. Thomas), Sister Ancheta and Sister Rio (Tanauan). District Two are: Elder Aquino and Elder Epat (Lipa 1st/Cuenca) Sister Estrella and Sister Dilag (Lipa 2nd).

For our workshop, we focus on Preach My Gospel: Chapter 2, Effective Study. We focus on “Live What You Learn” and “Studying and Preparing.” We gave emphasis on making a Lesson Plan. Every Missionary creates their own unique Lesson Plan.

I had a great discussion of both Districts. The Missionaries are great. It was a great opportunity to meet other Missionaries in the Mission, before they went on their transfers. I love all of them!

• Exchanges

We postponed our exchanges with the Lipa Zone and Batangas Zone due to transfer calls. It was a devasting call up for us. We had our plan-out cycle for the Sisters’ for this month and we changed our plan-out cycle again.

Although, this week we had our call ups for them. We follow up with them and throughout our follow ups. Sister Estrella and I would cry for the Sisters’ because we love them so much.

The Sisters’ of both Zones will be transferring and it was a big change for all of us. I will never forget the Sisters’ gratitude of thanking us on our exchanges, “You are the best STLs in our time, Mahal na mahal po namin kayo!” I love the Sisters!

Mission Updates: Transfer Calls

Any updates on your New Mission President?
Yes, in a couple of weeks we might have them over our mission. The whole mission has been praying for their safely arrival to the Philippines. I cannot wait to see them in our Mission Area. They will love the Philippines!

When will President and Sister Valdez end their term?
They will be ending their Interim term after the Lohners’ arrival. It means they will not be here on the next cycle. Honestly, I will miss them. President and Sister Valdez are great parents in our Mission. I am forever grateful for them. They are the best of the best!

Native Speaker Missionaries in Lipa Zone?
Yes! Most of them are Bisaya. It was comfortable to listen and communicate in their language. There were times I laughed and I was able to get a few words on their native tongue.

Any word on changes?
Nope, I don’t know what to say but I had to accept change. Change is better! “There is no Growth in Comfort Zone.”

How are the Missionaries of your Zone doing?
All of the Missionaries are doing great. They are excited on transfers. I remember a few days ago, Sister Estrella and I would get airheaded in our teaching discussions. Hehe. We would remember our District Prayer and Sisters’ Prayer with them. I would never forget our follow-up calls.

Oh, I will definitely miss it. Our Zone was the first brought up District Prayer and now we found out a few Zones are doing it. It all starts in Lipa Zone.

We made BRs for our Missionaries too. I will miss them so much. We will see each other on Zoom The whole Zone was special, and it will leave a mark on my Mission.

How are the Sisters’ currently doing?
Right now, we have three Sisters in our apartment, Sister Laniton, Sister Limnoan and Sister Catacutan. They will leave on Wednesday. Which means, they will be staying in our apartment for a few days. Also, this means dividing our time on their teaching appointments too, using 1 phone!

This is challenging. We had to divide out our time schedule for them and create an actual plan for the day. We were able to call every previous missionary for updates on the area, to help our Sisters’.

Our ABP is fully booked. I bet we will have a great week with the Sisters’ on their teaching appointments!

I bet this is long, I had a great and busy week on the week of transfers. It is a blessing to have the new Sisters’ coming over in our Zone. I know the Missionaries of our Mission will grow gradually on their assigned areas.

This is a marvelous revelation from the Lord, to our Interim Mission President and to our Assistants, Elder Badar and Elder Solis and to our Mission.

I will update you next week! ♡

Love,

Sister Dilag

  • I抎 need to verify with you here. Which is not one thing I normally do! I get pleasure from studying a publish that will make folks think. Also, thanks for allowing me to remark!

  • I have noticed that online diploma is getting well-liked because accomplishing your college degree online has turned into a popular alternative for many people. Quite a few people have not necessarily had a possibility to attend a regular college or university yet seek the improved earning possibilities and career advancement that a Bachelor’s Degree grants. Still other individuals might have a college degree in one field but would want to pursue something they already have an interest in.
